Studio Pierrot announces first Blu-ray release for Mahou no Idol Pastel Yumi

Studio Pierrot’s magical girl series, ‘Mahou no Idol Pastel Yumi’, is receiving its first Blu-ray release with the ‘40th Anniversary Blu-ray BOX’, scheduled for launch on October 28, 2026.

The collection features 25 television episodes originally broadcast in 1986, along with an OVA and a music clip. The special edition includes a box and inner jacket featuring new illustrations by Yoshiyuki Kishi, a special booklet, and newly recorded audio commentaries featuring cast members and staff.

Originally directed by Akira Shigino, the series follows 10-year-old Yumi Hanazono, who uses a magical wand to bring her drawings to life. The anniversary set is priced at 30,800 yen (including tax) and is being distributed by Bandai Namco Filmworks.
