Studiocanal acquires pan-Asian thriller ‘kiDnap Game’

Studiocanal has acquired the international distribution rights for ‘kiDnap Game’, a pan-Asian survival thriller series. The 11-part production is a collaboration between Japan’s Fuji Television, Hong Kong’s MakerVille, and South Korea’s Simstory. Canal+ has also acquired the series for territories across Europe, French-speaking Africa, and Asia.

The thriller follows a wave of simultaneous kidnappings occurring across seven Asian cities: Seoul, Tokyo, Taipei, Singapore, Bangkok, Naha, and Manila. Seven strangers are forced into a deadly survival game, each tasked with a different mission to save a loved one under the premise that only one can be rescued.

Directed by Yusuke Kato, the series features an ensemble cast led by Japanese actor Kentaro Sakaguchi and South Korean star Lee Joon-gi. The show has already premiered on Fuji TV in Japan and launched across 28 Asian territories via platforms such as Channel A, Disney+, Hami Video, and Viu.
