StudioCanal launches StudioCanal Classics catalogue label
StudioCanal has announced the global launch of StudioCanal Classics, a new catalogue label designed to highlight its extensive library of over 18,000 titles spanning 100 years of film history. The initiative follows a seven-year investment of approximately €25 million into the 4K restoration of nearly 1,000 classic feature films.
CEO Anna Marsh stated that the label aims to preserve the cultural legacy of iconic films through expert restoration and curation, bringing celebrated classics back to cinemas worldwide. Upcoming theatrical releases under the label include the 4K restoration of Michael Mann’s ‘Manhunter: The Final Cut’, the 35th anniversary release of James Cameron’s ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day’, and a 4K restoration of Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’ scheduled for this autumn.
The company’s distribution footprint includes the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Benelux, Poland, Australia, and New Zealand, with additional distribution via partners in Scandinavia and South Africa.
