Study identifies motivations for female adult content consumption
An international study published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior, involving more than 46,000 women across 42 countries, has identified the primary motivations for female consumption of adult content. The research indicates that sexual pleasure, curiosity, and the exploration of fantasies and personal preferences are the leading drivers.
Data from the platform FatalFans supports these findings, showing that women constitute 15% of their user base, while men represent 65% and couples account for 20%. Kellerson Kurtz, Business Director at FatalFans, noted that these figures challenge the perception that the market is almost exclusively male.
In subscription-based models, the study suggests that women make more specific purchasing decisions, often based on identification with a particular content creator and the perceived value of exclusive material over time.
