Polish radio stations release red currant cake recipe
Radio Alex 105.2 FM (Zakopane), Radio 90 and Radio Jura 93.8 FM (Częstochowa) each published a step‑by‑step recipe for a fluffy red‑currant cake. The basic formula uses four eggs, 200 g sugar, vanilla sugar, 220 ml vegetable oil, 240 g wheat flour, 90 g potato flour, 1½ tsp baking powder and 380 g fresh red currants. After whisking the eggs with sugar and vanilla until pale, the dry ingredients are folded in, the batter is poured into a greased 24 × 28 cm pan and baked at 180 °C for about 50 minutes. The finished cake is recommended warm or after cooling, dusted with powdered sugar, and stays fresh for two to three days when covered.
All three stations give identical preparation details, including tips such as letting the batter rest before baking and checking doneness with a toothpick. The repeated publication across different regional radio programmes underscores a coordinated effort to promote a simple, seasonal dessert using locally available red currants.
