GPTRACK50 releases debut action RPG Stupid Never Dies

GPTRACK50, a new development studio founded by former Capcom veteran Hiroyuki Kobayashi, has released its debut title, the action RPG roguelike ‘Stupid Never Dies’. The game is available on PlayStation 5 and PC.

Players control Davy, a zombie protagonist in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity is near extinction. The narrative follows Davy’s quest to revive a frozen human girl named Julia by defeating the King of Monsters, KOM. The gameplay features a ‘rapid growth’ system where players devour enemies to steal powers and transform their characters during dungeon dives.

Critical reception is varied. Some reviewers praise the game’s high-saturation visual style, punk-rock aesthetic, and the experience provided by industry veterans who worked on franchises like ‘Resident Evil’ and ‘Devil May Cry’. Other reviews are more critical, describing the title as a low-budget affair with unfunny comedy and unpolished visuals.
