Stuppa Family Memorial Tennis Tournament Draws Hundreds to Pantelleria

The ninth edition of the Stuppa family memorial tennis tournament was held on 16 July at the Mursia courts in Pantelleria, Italy. Organized in memory of the late Teresa Stuppa, the event brings together local athletes, tourists and residents for a celebration of sport and community.

Cooperation among local businesses and the municipality ensures the tournament’s social value. A youth competition for two local tennis schools runs alongside the senior draws, and for the second consecutive year the finals were streamed online by the Zio Tano Academy. Letizia Stuppa also launched a podcast featuring interviews with regional sports figures such as Andrea Ruggero, Massimo Boni and Mimmo Iannaccone.

Historical winners include Vito Stuppa, who holds five titles (2017‑2019‑2022‑2024‑2025), Mario Squitieri with three (2021‑2023‑2026) and Diego Belvisi (2018). The tournament continues to grow in participation and popularity each summer.
