Art Garfunkel cancels Hamburg concert due to illness

Art Garfunkel, the 84-year-old singer known for his work with Simon & Garfunkel, has canceled his upcoming concert in Hamburg, Germany. The performance, scheduled for October 24 at the Elbphilharmonie, was intended to be his first show in Germany since 2019.

The cancellation is due to health reasons. Garfunkel was diagnosed with a respiratory infection after a doctor's appointment prompted by his wife, Kim. Following the diagnosis, the singer stated that his physician advised him to take time to rest and recover.

In addition to the Hamburg date, Garfunkel has also had to cancel or postpone several performances in the United Kingdom and Paris. While the Elbphilharmonie has stated that there will be no replacement date for the Hamburg show, concert organizers are reportedly working to announce rescheduled dates as soon as possible.
