Sturm Graz adds former captain Hierländer as assistant coach, extends Grgic's deal

Former Sturm Graz captain Stefan Hierländer signed a new contract to become the assistant coach of Sturm II, focusing on individual development of young players and taking on duties in the club’s office and at representative events.

Striker Leon Grgic, a home‑grown talent who suffered a cruciate‑ligament rupture in December, also received a contract extension. The club confirmed a long‑term agreement but did not disclose the length. Grgic made 25 league appearances last season, scoring three goals and assisting two, and had attracted interest from clubs in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany before his injury. He is expected to return to the squad once his rehabilitation is complete.
