Stuttgart Stock Exchange receives DLT TSS license

The Boerse Stuttgart Group has become the first European exchange group to obtain a DLT Trading and Settlement System (TSS) license under the European pilot regime. The license was granted by BaFin following a procedure conducted in conjunction with the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) and the European Central Bank (ECB).

This authorization allows the exchange to integrate both the order book and the settlement process into a single infrastructure, a combination traditionally separated by European law. The license provides the regulatory foundation for Seturion, the group's pan-European digital settlement platform, which is designed to connect banks, brokers, and trading platforms.

By utilizing blockchain technology, the group aims to reduce fragmentation in Europe's post-trade infrastructure. The platform is intended to support both public and private blockchains to facilitate more efficient capital market operations.
