STVR to launch new political debate series with high school students

Slovak public broadcaster STVR is introducing a new discussion program titled ‘Prvá voľba’ (First Choice), designed to facilitate direct interaction between politicians and the younger generation. The format moves away from traditional studio settings, placing representatives from both the governing coalition and the opposition in an arena surrounded by high school students.

In this series, students will have the opportunity to pose questions regarding social issues, the functioning of the state, and their own futures. Peter Begányi, the person in charge of STVR management, stated that the goal is to create a space where young people are active participants rather than just an audience. The five-part series is scheduled to premiere on October 29 at 20:30 on Jednotka, with the first episode featuring students from a medical secondary school in Trenčín.
