Styria announces candidates for ‘9 Plätze – 9 Schätze’ 2026
Three locations in Styria have been named as candidates for the 2026 edition of the ORF program ‘9 Plätze – 9 Schätze’. The candidates are the Riegersburg fortress, Stift St. Lambrecht, and the Talbachklamm gorge near Schladming.
Each site will be presented by the ORF on specific dates: Riegersburg on September 30, Stift St. Lambrecht on October 1, and Talbachklamm on October 2. Public voting will take place from October 2 to October 6 via telephone or SMS, with the Styrian winner to be announced on October 8.
The Riegersburg fortress is situated on a 482-meter volcanic rock and features museums and a bird of prey observatory. Stift St. Lambrecht, a Benedictine monastery, will celebrate its 950th anniversary in 2026. The Talbachklamm offers a natural landscape of rock and water located near the center of Schladming.
