EPH Group acquires Burgenland land for luxury resort development
EPH Group AG has signed purchase agreements through its subsidiary, EPH BGL GmbH, to acquire approximately 26,363 square meters of land in a well-known wine-growing region in Burgenland, Austria. The company plans to develop a luxury 5-star resort featuring roughly 300 beds in suites and private villas. The project is designed as a year-round destination, integrating wine, gourmet dining, golf, and thermal wellness to reduce seasonal dependency.
The acquisition is subject to conditions, including the rezoning of the land for construction and the granting of building permits. The total purchase price is set at EUR 263,630, payable upon the fulfillment of these conditions. EPH Group intends to collaborate with an international hotel operator for the resort's management.
Separately, a study by IMAS commissioned by Kärntner Sparkasse reveals that despite challenges such as high energy costs, rising wages, and bureaucracy, 66 percent of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Carinthia remain optimistic about their development over the next two to three years. While 57 percent of businesses feel local conditions are inferior to other EU countries, many plan to invest in digitalization, new technologies, and energy efficiency.
