Suape Port Complex reclaims 55 hectares for new investments

The Suape Industrial Port Complex has reclaimed 55 hectares of land previously leased to Vard Promar. The 550,000-square-meter area, roughly equivalent to 77 football fields, features direct waterfront access and is being prepared for new industrial, logistical, port, naval, or offshore projects.

The reclamation follows an arbitration decision that upheld Suape's unilateral termination of a lease agreement originally signed in 2010. While the reclaimed area was part of an original 80-hectare plot, the 25 hectares currently occupied by the Vard Promar shipyard are unaffected by this decision and will continue normal operations.

Armando Monteiro Bisneto, president of Suape, stated that the return of this land increases the complex's capacity to host new projects. The administration is now evaluating the best use for the space to drive productivity and attract investment to Pernambuco.
