SUAS GROUP and Czech municipalities negotiate future of central heating

The city of Sokolov and the energy group SUAS GROUP are negotiating the future of central heating for the region. Currently, Sokolov and surrounding municipalities rely on heat from the Tisová Power Plant, which primarily uses coal. Due to the need for a transition to different energy sources, both parties are preparing studies to map options for future heat supply, including new central, decentralized, or block sources. These studies are expected to be completed by the end of October.

In a related development, the municipalities of Karlovy Vary and Chodov have signed a 20-year agreement with SUAS GROUP to continue receiving heat from the Vřesová source. This agreement includes a new control mechanism for heat prices, featuring a five-member supervisory board composed of representatives from Karlovy Vary, Chodov, and SUAS GROUP. The partnership aims to modernize production sources and the heat pipeline while ensuring supply security and price control for residents.
