Subang Airport flights suspended after helicopter fire

All flights at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang have been suspended following a helicopter fire on Saturday. The incident occurred around 12:30 PM during ground engine testing as part of maintenance activities.

The aircraft involved was a Kamov Ka-32S helicopter, registration UR-CIT, located at the Karbon MRO area. Four Ukrainian nationals, including the pilot, crew, and co-pilot, managed to escape the aircraft safely. However, one individual was reported injured after being struck by debris during the incident.

Firefighting teams from the Bukit Jelutong station and airport personnel responded to the scene, where the helicopter was reportedly 100 percent engulfed in flames upon their arrival. The Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) under the Ministry of Transport will conduct an investigation into the cause of the fire in accordance with Civil Aviation Regulations 2016.
