Subaru and Lexus announce new vehicle updates in Japan

Subaru and Lexus have announced updates to their vehicle lineups in Japan.

Subaru has introduced the improved D-type Impreza, which simplifies its lineup by discontinuing the 2L e-BOXER mild hybrid. The model will now focus on the Smart Edition, available in both Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) and All-Wheel Drive (AWD) configurations. The AWD version includes standard features such as a steering heater, front seat heater, and LED rear fog lamps, whereas these are optional on the FWD model. The FWD version is priced at 2,865,500 yen, while the AWD version is 3,135,000 yen.

Lexus has unveiled the 2026 Lexus IS F SPORT Mode Black VI in Japan. This special edition features 19-inch black BBS forged wheels, Triple-beam Full LED headlights, and a cabin equipped with LTex synthetic leather and Ultrasuede materials. The vehicle retains its 2,493 cc 4-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor, producing 178 horsepower from the engine and 143 horsepower from the motor, connected to an e-CVT transmission. It is scheduled for sale starting October 1, 2026, with a starting price of 6,950,000 yen.
