Subaru EV sales top 3,000 units in May as new Uncharted and Trailseeker models outsell Solterra

Subaru reported that U.S. sales of its electric vehicles reached 3,094 units in May, surpassing the 3,000‑unit milestone for the month. The newly launched Uncharted SUV led the lineup with 1,270 units sold, followed by the larger Trailseeker with 1,074 units, while the incumbent Solterra recorded 750 sales. In April, Subaru set a record for EV sales with 1,128 units, a 148% year‑over‑year increase despite the expiration of the $7,500 federal tax credit. The Uncharted and Trailseeker, introduced in March, quickly closed the gap with the Solterra, which remains the brand’s top seller for the year with 4,919 units through May.

Pricing for the new models ranges from $34,995 for the Uncharted to $39,995 for the Trailseeker, and Subaru is offering a $2,000 cash rebate and 0% financing to boost competitiveness. The surge reflects growing consumer interest in Subaru’s EV lineup, which is built on Toyota platforms, and suggests the brand may be attracting both existing Subaru owners and buyers from other manufacturers.
