Subaru introduces e-Outback electric SUV developed with Toyota

Subaru is transitioning its iconic Outback model to a fully electric platform with the introduction of the e-Outback. Developed through a technical collaboration with Toyota, the new model utilizes the e-Subaru Global Platform and is manufactured at Subaru’s facility in Gunma, Japan.

The e-Outback is designed as a mid-size electric SUV featuring permanent all-wheel drive with dual electric motors. It delivers a total output of 280 kW (approximately 381 CV), enabling an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. The vehicle is equipped with a 74.7 kWh battery, offering a WLTP range of up to 523 km in some markets, though some regional specifications may vary.

Global rollout plans include testing in Taiwan, where it is expected to join the brand’s electric lineup following the Solterra. In Greece, the model is set to make its premiere at the Auto Athena 2026 exhibition, positioned as a flagship electric vehicle for the European market.
