Subaru introduces electric E-Outback and transitions model design
Subaru is transitioning its iconic Outback model into the electric era and evolving its design to meet market demands. In Finland, the new all-electric Subaru E-Outback is scheduled for its first presentation at dealerships on September 4–5.
The E-Outback features a dual-motor system providing 380 hp and Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. It offers a WLTP range of up to 526 kilometers, a 74.7 kWh battery, and supports DC fast charging up to 150 kW, allowing a 10% to 80% charge in approximately 28 minutes. The model has earned a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating, performing strongly in adult and child occupant protection.
Simultaneously, the Outback is undergoing a significant generational shift in design, moving from a traditional station wagon silhouette toward a more robust SUV appearance to align with consumer preferences. Despite the visual change, the brand aims to maintain its core identity through features like its boxer engine, high ground clearance, and X-Mode technology for low-traction surfaces.
