Subaru launches Uncharted electric SUV for urban and off‑road use
Subaru unveiled the Uncharted, an all‑electric vehicle introduced by CEO Nicola Torregiani of Subaru Italia and Subaru Benelux. The model is positioned as a safe, fun, tough and powerful addition to the brand, available in three versions: two front‑wheel‑drive (FWD) variants and one all‑wheel‑drive (AWD) variant.
Power is provided by dual electric motors delivering over 340 hp in the AWD version. Battery capacity ranges from 54 kWh (entry‑level) to 77 kWh (long‑range and AWD), giving WLTP‑type ranges of about 451 km for the low‑capacity pack, up to 592 km for the long‑range version and 495 km for the AWD model. Charging from 10 % to 80 % takes roughly 28 minutes. Dimensions are 1.625 m high, 1.870 m wide and 4.515 m long, with boot capacity between 403 L and 1 331 L.
The vehicle’s technology stems from a collaboration between Subaru and Toyota, combining Subaru’s safety expertise with Toyota’s electric‑powertrain know‑how. Features include an X‑MODE system with two terrain modes to optimise traction and braking on slippery or soft surfaces, and a sport‑oriented suspension and steering setup distinct from the Toyota counterpart.
