Subaru unveils 2026 Outback Wilderness and electric Trailseeker for South America

Subaru introduced the 2026 Outback Wilderness, a top‑trim SUV version of its long‑running Outback line. The model features a raised ride height of 9.5 inches, active dampers, a 2.4‑liter turbocharged boxer engine, black‑matted 17‑inch wheels, roof rails and copper‑anodised accents. The design emphasizes a more muscular grille and rugged bodywork aimed at small‑family and daily‑use drivers.

In parallel, Subaru launched the Trailseeker, its first fully electric vehicle for the South‑American market, at an event in Colombia. The Trailseeker is built on Toyota’s e‑TNGA platform, sharing roughly 70 % of parts with the Solterra, and is billed as an “electric Outback.” It measures 4,845 mm long, 1,860 mm wide and 1,675 mm high, with a 2,850 mm wheelbase and 211 mm ground clearance. The vehicle carries 20‑inch wheels, a distinct LED front with a three‑dimensional grille effect, and a luminous six‑star Subaru logo. Inside, a minimalist cockpit features a 7‑inch digital instrument cluster and a large central touchscreen.

Both models showcase Subaru’s strategy of expanding its SUV portfolio while advancing electrification through a partnership with Toyota.
