Subfluvial Tunnel in Entre Ríos implements El Niño emergency protocols
The Administrative Commission of the ‘Raúl Uranga – Carlos Sylvestre Begnis’ Subfluvial Tunnel has launched mandatory internal training sessions regarding the El Niño climate phenomenon. The training covers technical, transit, toll, and administrative staff, as well as personnel at the Social Complex and Interpretation Center.
The program consists of five specific modules tailored to different work areas, plus a general health module led by the institutional medical service. Because the El Niño phenomenon can cause intense rainfall and extraordinary river rises in the Argentine Litoral region, the tunnel requires constant monitoring of the Paraná River.
Preventative measures include tracking hydrometric levels, meteorological conditions, and riverbed evolution, alongside verifying pumping systems and electrical installations to ensure operational safety.
