Subhalakshmi Borooah Khan debuts as vocalist with ‘Chants for Unity’

Subhalakshmi Borooah Khan has made her vocal debut with the new album, ‘Chants for Unity’. The project is a collaborative effort involving her husband, Sarod Maestro Amjad Ali Khan, and their sons, Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash, who participated in the conception and composition of the work.

The nine-track album integrates sacred music and Indian classical traditions to convey a message of peace and togetherness. Borooah Khan provides vocals for five specific sacred compositions: Navagraha Shlokam, Krishna Stuti, Shantakaram, Ya Devi Sarvabhooteshu, and Lakshmi Stuti.

Borooah Khan, who has a background in Bharatanatyam and Assamese musical traditions, described the journey as deeply personal, aiming to bring music and prayer together to foster harmony.
