Subhash Ghai recalls 2009 support from Narendra Modi

Filmmaker Subhash Ghai recently recounted a significant interaction from 2009 with Narendra Modi, who was then the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Ghai visited Modi to present his vision for Whistling Woods International, an institute focused on film and creative arts.

Ghai noted that he initially expected bureaucratic delays but instead received enthusiastic support. During the meeting, Ghai argued that education requires an artistic perspective for holistic human development. In response, Modi reportedly instructed his secretaries to identify suitable land for the institute along the highway between Ahmedabad and Vadodara.

Ghai recalled that Modi encouraged him to contact him directly if any administrative delays occurred, emphasizing his desire to see the institute established in the region.
