Subpesca and FAO collaborate on responsible seafood consumption policy

The Undersecretariat of Fisheries and Aquaculture (Subpesca) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) are collaborating to develop a methodology for a new policy aimed at promoting the responsible consumption of seafood products.

During a meeting in Santiago, representatives from both organizations discussed tools to gather diverse perspectives from various territories and stakeholders. The FAO shared expertise from previous collaborative work with the National Board of School Aid and Scholarships (JUNAEB) regarding national school feeding policies, suggesting that similar participatory methodologies could be adapted to ensure the new seafood consumption policy accounts for regional specificities and actor segmentation.
