Subterráneos de Buenos Aires awards escalator renovation contract

Subterráneos de Buenos Aires (SBA) has awarded a tender for the purchase and installation of 41 new escalators across five subway lines: A, B, C, D, and E. The project, which originated from a tender launched in February, aims to modernize elevation systems within the network.

The contract was split into two groups. Group I, consisting of 20 escalators for Line B, was awarded to Ascensores Servas. Group II, which includes 21 units for Lines A, C, D, and E, was awarded to Femyp.

Contract signings are expected in the coming days to initiate works. The renovation will impact several stations, including Plaza Miserere (Line A), various stations on Line B such as Callao and Pasteur, General San Martín (Line C), and several locations on Lines D and E.
