Suceava installs child mannequins at school pedestrian crossings

The Suceava City Hall has implemented a new road safety initiative by installing life-sized mannequins representing a boy and a girl at pedestrian crossings near schools. These mannequins are designed to mimic the height and appearance of students to instinctively prompt drivers to reduce their speed.

Vice Mayor Dan Ioan Cușnir stated that Suceava is the first city in Romania to adopt this measure. The project aims to reduce the number of traffic accidents involving minors, particularly as the Suceava county has high rates of road accidents with victims. The city plans to expand this initiative to 15 high-risk pedestrian crossings located near schools and kindergartens.
