Suchocin house fire causes significant roof damage

A two-story residential building in Suchocin, near Warsaw, caught fire during the night of August 8-9, 2026. The fire, located on Modlińska Street, heavily damaged the roof structure, destroying the covering and load-bearing elements such as beams and rafters.

Emergency services from Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki, Legionowo, Jabłonna, Chotomów, and Janówek were deployed to manage the blaze. Firefighters faced challenges due to the fire spreading within hidden spaces between the roof and the suspended ceiling. The presence of a photovoltaic system and an energy storage unit required specialized safety procedures and coordination with power utility services.

No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire remains unknown and will be determined following the completion of rescue operations.
