Sucre state reports oncology care continuity amid worker protests

The Government of Sucre and the Ministry of Popular Power for Health have announced that oncology patients in the Sucre region are receiving effective medical care. This continuity of treatment is being facilitated through inter-institutional cooperation with the state of Anzoátegui to optimize specialized protocols and medical follow-up.

Separately, public employees in Sucre, including administrative staff, laborers, educators, and health professionals, have gathered in Cumaná to demand outstanding payments and updated salary scales. The Suepples union, led by Ramón Gómez, is calling for the payment of year-end bonuses in a single installment, the provision of uniforms and footwear, and a 100% reimbursement for medicines. Union leaders also cited unpaid seniority premiums and a lack of social security protection. Daniel Ruiz, the regional government's secretary general, met with union leadership to discuss these grievances.
