Sudan Founding Alliance accuses SAF of attacking South Sudan oil pipeline

The Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS) has accused the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) of conducting repeated drone attacks on a vital oil pipeline used to transport South Sudanese crude to the Red Sea. According to TASIS spokesperson Ahmed Tugud Lisan, the strikes have targeted sections of the pipeline north of Al-Hamadi in South Kordofan since September 11, resulting in ruptured pipes and large fires.

TASIS reported that seven of its fighters were killed during a strike while attempting to protect engineers and maintenance teams dispatched to repair the damaged infrastructure. The alliance stated that these attacks threaten the economic interests of South Sudan, which relies heavily on this pipeline for government revenue, and could escalate the impact of the Sudanese conflict across regional borders.

In a separate development, TASIS leadership has rejected claims of military retreat, asserting the alliance is at its strongest point. Hasab al-Nabi Mahmoud, a senior official, criticized the political dialogue process supported by army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, arguing it fails to engage with democratic political forces.
