Sudan honors Turkish Ambassador with Order of the Nile
Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council President, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, has awarded the Order of the Nile, First Class, to the Turkish Ambassador to Khartoum, Fatih Yıldız. The ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace in Khartoum on August 26, 2026, in the presence of Foreign Minister Mohieddin Salem.
The honor was presented in recognition of Ambassador Yıldız’s efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and brotherhood between Sudan and Turkey. During the meeting, Yıldız praised the deep historical ties between the two nations and expressed Turkey’s commitment to supporting Sudan’s stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
Ambassador Yıldız emphasized the importance of strengthening national institutions under the leadership of the Sovereignty Council. He also noted that sustainable peace must be achieved through an inclusive process involving the Sudanese people.
