Sudan pledges full support to Yemeni forces against Houthis

Sudanese Chief of Staff Yasser al-Atta has declared Sudan’s full support for the Yemeni government forces in their conflict against the Houthi movement. In a message addressed to Sagheer bin Aziz, the Chief of Staff of the Yemeni General Staff and Commander of Joint Operations, al-Atta stated that Sudan, both leadership and people, stands with the Yemeni military in all fields and forums.

Al-Atta emphasized that the threats facing both nations are identical, necessitating a unified and firm response. He expressed confidence in the Yemeni military's ability to prevent what he described as a project to dismantle the unified Yemeni state and to restore the republic's flag across the entire national territory.

This declaration comes amid renewed military escalations in Yemen. Fighting has intensified across several provinces, including Al Hudaydah, Taiz, Lahj, Marib, Al Jawf, and Al Bayda. Recent reports indicate Houthi forces have seized strategic locations, including the city of Mocha and Perim Island, which overlooks the strategic Bab al-Mandab strait.
