Sudanese repatriation initiatives facilitate returns from Egypt and Libya
Initiatives to facilitate the voluntary return of Sudanese citizens from Egypt to Sudan are gaining momentum. The Hope Committee for Voluntary Return, in partnership with the Al-Aziziyah Cross-Border Land Transport Company, has successfully facilitated the return of approximately 50,000 Sudanese nationals.
To support those affected by the war, Al-Aziziyah Transport has reduced the cost of bus tickets by 5,000 Egyptian pounds per seat. Additionally, the Al-Aziziyah Charity Organization has launched free bus services to assist families unable to afford travel costs. A recent deployment of five buses from central Cairo transported roughly 500 people. The company also announced a donation of five buses specifically dedicated to transporting Sudanese nationals returning from Libya.
Sudanese diplomatic officials in Cairo, including Deputy Consul Dr. Musab Fouad, have praised these humanitarian efforts and called upon Sudanese businessmen to contribute to the repatriation process. The Sudanese Embassy continues to work alongside the Hope Committee to organize and facilitate these land-based transport operations.
