Sudene approves R$ 940.5 million in tax incentives for regional projects

The Superintendency for the Development of the Northeast (Sudene) has approved 33 tax incentive requests for various enterprises within its jurisdiction. These projects represent a total investment of R$ 940.5 million and are expected to maintain 4,271 jobs, including 903 new positions.

The approved benefits are distributed across eight states, with Bahia hosting the highest number of projects at 10, followed by Ceará with eight. Other states receiving approvals include Pernambuco, Piauí, Paraíba, Espírito Santo, Maranhão, and Rio Grande do Norte.

Key sectors benefiting from these incentives include chemicals, infrastructure, food and beverages, and tourism. The tax benefits include a 67.5% reduction in Corporate Income Tax (IRPJ) and provisions for tax reinvestment. Three major projects account for 83% of the total investment volume, totaling R$ 780.6 million.
