Sudhanshu Trivedi criticizes Congress over BRICS summit response

BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi has criticized the Congress party for its reaction to the recent BRICS summit. Comparing the opposition to a ‘disgruntled uncle’ at a wedding, Trivedi argued that instead of engaging with the diplomatic, strategic, or economic significance of the summit, Congress chose to focus on trivialities such as the dinner menu.

Trivedi highlighted the summit as a major diplomatic success for India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, noting that the ‘Delhi Declaration’ was adopted by consensus. He pointed out that the summit facilitated engagement between nations with historical differences, such as Saudi Arabia and Iran, and addressed terrorism by emphasizing that it should not be linked to any specific religion.
