Sudirman Said leads 2029 national leadership survey

A national leadership survey conducted by Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC) titled ‘Democratic Transformative National Leadership 2029’ has highlighted former Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said. In the study, Said achieved an average leadership quality score of 6.3 out of 10, surpassing President Prabowo Subianto, who scored 5.1, and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who scored 4.4.

The survey evaluated 31 national figures based on ten criteria, including competence, integrity, empathy, and commitment to democracy and public welfare. The respondents were not the general public but 200 opinion leaders, consisting of 166 academics and 34 senior journalists, chosen for their ability to provide peer-based assessments.

Masyarakat Transparansi Indonesia (MTI) expressed appreciation for the survey, noting its methodological credibility and the relevance of its assessment criteria. MTI highlighted that because Said currently holds no public office or political party leadership, the scores reflect his personal track record and qualities rather than current political influence.
