Suşehri business owners demand stray dog controls after attack

Local business owners in the Suşehri district of Sivas are calling for increased control over stray dogs following an attack on two pet dogs. The animals, which had become unofficial mascots for the local industrial site, were found injured when shopkeepers opened their businesses.

While initial suspicions suggested the dogs might have been hit by a vehicle, veterinary examinations revealed bite marks. Security camera footage confirmed that a large stray dog, accompanied by another unleashed dog, attacked the pets. One of the dogs sustained serious injuries.

The business owners, who had previously rescued the dogs from a wolf pack, are now urging local authorities and the municipality to take effective measures to manage the stray dog population and ensure public and animal safety to prevent similar incidents.
