Suez Canal Economic Zone and Panama discuss economic cooperation

Mustafa Shekhoun, Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), met with Ricardo Isa, the Panamanian Ambassador to Cairo, to discuss deepening economic and investment cooperation between the two nations.

The discussions focused on building upon the existing partnership between the SCZONE and the Colon Free Zone in Panama. The goal is to exchange logistical and industrial expertise and leverage the strategic advantages of both regions. The SCZONE serves as a gateway to African and Middle Eastern markets via the Red and Mediterranean Seas, while Panama provides access to the Latin American market.

This meeting serves as preparation for an upcoming visit by the Panamanian Foreign Minister to Egypt, which will include a tour of the SCZONE. Additionally, the Ambassador extended an invitation to the SCZONE Chairman to visit Panama in the first half of next year to explore new investment integration opportunities.
