Suez Canal Economic Zone expands global investment partnerships
The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) is expanding its international industrial and investment partnerships. Mostafa Sheikhoun, Chairperson of SCZONE, recently hosted high-level delegations from China and Hong Kong to discuss industrial localization and cooperation.
A delegation from the CCPIT Shaanxi Sub-Council met with SCZONE officials to explore investment opportunities in priority sectors, including clean energy, heavy industry, advanced technology, electronics, and automotive manufacturing. This follows a strategic partnership between Egypt and China.
Simultaneously, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) delegation met with SCZONE to discuss potential collaborations in electronics, logistics, garments, and textiles. The HKTDC delegation toured the Sokhna Industrial Zone to inspect local manufacturing and logistics capabilities.
In a separate development, SCZONE was ranked seventh globally in fDi Intelligence’s 2026 Global Free Zones of the Year awards. It was also named Africa’s best industrial zone, a recognition attributed to Egypt’s economic reforms, political stability, and infrastructure development designed to attract global manufacturing and logistics investment.
