Suez Canal Economic Zone secures $7.3 billion in new industrial investments

The Suez Canal Economic Zone has secured contracts for 117 industrial projects, representing an investment total of $7.3 billion for the 2025/2026 fiscal year. This influx of capital aims to transform the Suez Canal from a global maritime transit route into an integrated hub for manufacturing, production, exports, and logistics.

Member of Parliament Yasser Al-Hefnawy noted that these investments serve as a signal of confidence in the Egyptian economy and its ability to attract foreign direct investment. He emphasized that the strategic location, advanced ports, and integrated infrastructure provide a competitive advantage for these projects. Beyond the financial value, the projects are expected to create new job opportunities, increase local production, facilitate technology transfer, and boost Egyptian exports.
