Suez Canal University Hospitals Perform 6,689 Surgeries and 1.45M Tests in FY 2025/26

Suez Canal University hospitals reported performing 6,689 surgeries, handling 59,649 emergency cases, 144,930 out‑patient visits, 2,504 in‑patient admissions, 3,317 intensive‑care cases, 9,598 dialysis sessions, 2,788 digestive endoscopies, 1,268 cardiac catheterisations and over 1.45 million laboratory analyses in the 2025/2026 fiscal year.

The Cancer and Nuclear Medicine Centre and the Main Family Medicine Centre received full three‑year accreditation from the General Authority for Health Accreditation and Control (GAHAR), and the specialised university hospital obtained a preliminary accreditation, confirming compliance with quality and patient‑safety standards.

The hospitals became the first Egyptian university hospitals to join the comprehensive health‑insurance scheme, launching primary‑care and family‑medicine services that enable citizens to obtain examinations, imaging, treatment and insurance cards in one location.

Infrastructure upgrades include a new outpatient‑clinic building, a neonatal unit wing, an upgraded women‑emergency department, expanded paediatric surgery, emergency, burn and intensive‑care units, and increased oncology capacity that treated 11,398 cancer patients, delivering 2,809 chemotherapy and 6,104 radiotherapy sessions between June 2025 and June 2026.

The “Golden Jubilee – Treatment Is a Right for All” initiative offered free surgeries and related tests to 300 patients, and the stroke unit earned Diamond Status in the 2025 WSO Angels Awards, placing it among leading global stroke‑care centres.
