Suffolk County Sheriff’s Corporal Brett Martin Killed While Assisting Motorist on I-95 in Boxford, MA

Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department Corporal Brett Martin, 51, died after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate‑95 southbound near Mile Marker 74 in Boxford, Massachusetts, shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Monday. Massachusetts State Police responded to the scene and transported the pedestrian to a hospital with life‑threatening injuries.

Martin, who began his career with the department in February 2008 as a correction officer, held several positions within the Suffolk County House of Correction and was most recently assigned to a security post in the kitchen of the facility. The department described him as a dedicated, thoughtful and courageous employee who consistently showed selflessness and concern for others. Officials expressed deep sympathy to his family and colleagues while mourning his loss.
