Suffolk police officer's soccer skills go viral after match with teens

A spontaneous soccer match between Suffolk County police officers and local teenagers in Centereach, New York, has become a viral sensation, garnering approximately 18 million views online.

While on patrol at SSG James D. McNaughton Memorial Park, Officers Kevin Martinez and Daniel Sanchez encountered a group of teens playing soccer late at night. Although the teenagers initially feared they would be asked to leave the park, the officers instead challenged them to penalty kicks and a one-on-one match. Officer Martinez, a former collegiate athlete from the New York Institute of Technology, showcased advanced soccer skills during the encounter.

The video of the interaction was shared by the Suffolk Police Department and has since received millions of likes on social media. Following the viral success, the officers and the teenagers reunited at the Suffolk County Police Headquarters in Yaphank to celebrate the moment.
