Suffolk Wildlife Trust proposes new viewing platforms at Worlingham Marshes

Suffolk Wildlife Trust has submitted plans to construct two timber viewing platforms at Worlingham Marshes near Beccles. The proposed structures are intended to provide visitors with views of the newly created wetland habitats along the River Waveney.

If approved by the Broads Authority, the platforms will feature timber decks, bench seating, safety rails, and access ramps. Built from untreated hardwood, the viewpoints are designed to blend into the landscape with minimal visual impact. One platform would be located approximately 200 metres east of Marsh Lane, while the second would be situated about 800 metres to the west.

The project is part of a long-term vision for the 381-acre reserve, which was established following a grant of nearly £2 million from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The viewpoints are strategically positioned to overlook wetland features designed to attract birds and other wildlife.
