Sufmi Dasco Ahmad Urges Entrepreneurs to Build Healthy Indonesian Social Media Ecosystem

On 4 August 2026, Vice Chairman of Indonesia’s House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, attended the National Coordination Working Meeting of the Indonesian Entrepreneurs Association (Apindo) in Makassar, South Sulawesi.

During the meeting he called on business leaders to take a more active role in creating a healthy social‑media ecosystem, stating that a conducive digital environment is a key factor for economic, political stability and the national investment climate. He warned that the rapid spread of unverified information can erode public trust, affect market conditions and destabilise enterprises. Ahmad urged the government, the DPR, entrepreneurs and labour unions to collaborate on adaptive labour regulations and broader digital‑policy frameworks. "Ruang digital yang kondusif menjadi salah satu faktor penting untuk menjaga stabilitas ekonomi, politik, dan iklim investasi nasional," he said, adding that misinformation "dapat memengaruhi kepercayaan publik, kondisi pasar, bahkan stabilitas dunia usaha."
