Suframa to implement new import process via Single Portal
Suframa is transitioning its import processes to integrate the agency's Import and Export Control System (SCIEX) with the Single Portal of Foreign Trade (Portal Único de Comércio Exterior). Starting October 13, companies will be able to perform customs clearance using Licenses, Permissions, Certificates, and Others (LPCO) in conjunction with the Single Import Declaration (DUIMP).
During this transition, the current LIDI (Import License and Import Declaration) module will remain operational until December, after which it will be discontinued. To facilitate the change, Suframa has provided a training environment for companies to test the new system from September 14 until October 12.
Ícaro Sevalho, the general coordinator of Import and Export Control at Suframa, noted that the new system replaces substitute documents with a rectification procedure. The agency recently held a lecture to guide companies through the practical steps of the new workflow, including the use of product catalogs and electronic forms.
