Suge Knight claims Tupac Shakur’s ashes were smoked by associates

Former Death Row Records executive Suge Knight has provided new testimony regarding the aftermath of Tupac Shakur’s 1996 death. Knight claims that Shakur’s mother, Afeni Shakur, requested an immediate cremation following the rapper's fatal shooting in Las Vegas.

To expedite the process, Knight alleges he paid a funeral home worker a total of $1.2 million in cash after an initial $200,000 offer was rejected. Knight further claims that following the cremation, Shakur’s close friends and family gathered in a Las Vegas hotel room where they rolled the rapper’s ashes into blunts and smoked them as a symbolic tribute. Knight stated he did not participate in the ritual due to being on probation at the time.

These claims coincide with ongoing legal proceedings involving Duane “Keffe D” Davis. While some associates, including members of the group Outlawz, have previously discussed similar rituals based on Shakur’s lyrics and personal wishes, some family members have disputed these accounts, noting that portions of Shakur’s remains were released into the ocean.
