Suge Knight claims Tupac Shakur's ashes were smoked by associates

Suge Knight, co-founder of Death Row Records, has claimed that friends and family of the late rapper Tupac Shakur smoked his ashes following his cremation in 1996. Speaking to TMZ, Knight alleged that Shakur’s mother, Afeni Shakur, invited associates to a Las Vegas hotel room where they rolled the ashes into several blunts.

Knight stated he declined to participate because he was on probation at the time and feared the legal consequences. He also claimed he paid a funeral director $1.2 million to expedite the cremation process overnight. While members of the group Outlawz have made similar claims in the past, a spokesperson for Afeni Shakur has denied the allegations, stating she would “never participate in smoking her son”.

These revelations coincide with the ongoing murder trial of Duane “Keffe D” Davis in Las Vegas. Davis, a former gang member, is accused by prosecutors of orchestrating the 1996 drive-by shooting that killed Shakur, though he is not alleged to have fired the weapon. Davis has pleaded not guilty to one count of murder with the use of a deadly weapon.
