Sugiono calls for UN partnership and improved Hajj management

Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, Sugiono, has emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships with the United Nations to support Indonesia's human resource development. Speaking at the 81st United Nations Day, Sugiono highlighted that under President Prabowo Subianto, the government is focusing on education, health, gender equality, and supporting youth and persons with disabilities as core pillars of national transformation.

In a separate initiative, Sugiono met with officials from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to address the governance of national Hajj services. He instructed that institutional transitions within the ministry must not disrupt the quality of service provided to pilgrims. Key priorities include adapting to integrated service schemes from the Saudi Arabian government, managing waiting lists more equitably across regions, and addressing flight cost fluctuations. Additionally, Sugiono expressed support for forensic audits to validate Hajj registrant data and prevent state losses.
